Rowdy Jones and Snippy Burrell served as special operatives for the government and are now retired owners of the Lost-A-Lot Pub in Royal Oak but have now been summoned by the president to help in finding the person responsible for the rape of an 18 year-old college student who happens to be the son of the governor of Michigan, an old college friend. Their investigation leads them to long-hidden secrets of sexual and mental abuses perpetrated by some of the most influential men in government. Some of the victims were able to live with the abuses but at least one harbored a deep hatred of the abusers and instead of welding revenge upon the perpetrators chooses to seek retribution by hurting the children of the guilty. Rowdy and Snippy must find the hater before he forces another innocent pay a debt they never owed.

What a great first novel set in Detroit and the suburbs! I like the characters and the surprise ending! Had this fun suspense/mystery read in about two days and so happy I didn't have to wait for the second book...started it today!
